FOR BLEMISHED SKIN
say good-bye to banana spots
Following with what I promised last week on my day skincare routine post, and as a part of my contribution to humanity with banana skin (since I don’t know about science, medicine or mathematics) here is my night time skincare routine for problematic skin.
In the opposite spectrum to my day routine, this one is focused on repairing the damage occasioned by bad nutrition, the hiperpigmentation due allergies or the skin textured from acne marks. However, and as a personal note, one of the best things I’ve made for my skin’s health is to reduce drastically my dairy consumption and drink lots of water. It won’t only help you to maintain your weight on the long run, but it’s also the cheapest way to take care of your skin.
Just like every morning, I use the BIODERMA micellar water to clean my face and at night I use it as a make-up remover too. It’s expensive, and when I’m feeling cheap, I use instead the GARNIER micellar water which isn’t as good but it does the job. Then, I apply a generous amount of the ARYA toner made of roses, tulsi leaf and cucumber, but the most important thing about your toner is that it must not have any alcohol in it.
Once my skin is clean and with the ideal ph, I use twice a week the VICHY peeling all over my face avoiding the eye contour. This peeling is very mild but if you have an active acne or an open spot, it will help to dry it out and lower the swelling. This is a micro-peeling, so don’t expect to see a viper changing its skin by the next day, but progressive results starting from the first month of use. I recommend you use it twice a week or so, and don’t forget your sunscreen on the next day.
Whether I’ve used the peeling or not, one of my recent holy-grails is the CLARINS Mission Perfection serum, a product that evens out the tone of your skin and helps to fade scars made by acne or allergies. Personally, and because I suffer of hyperpigmentation, I tend to scar very slowly but with this the spots go away much faster. Then, I apply a moisturiser by VICHY to keep the skin hydrated all night and a concentrated eye-cream by CLARINS.
Finally, and especially if I’ve been bad with my water intake or eating habits (read: drunk too much alcohol and eaten many salty foods), I drink a large glass of water before bed and seal my lips with the incredible LANEIGE product. A night time lip mask that restores the softness and plumpness of your lips while you sleep, so the next morning you can easily wear that matte lipstick without worrying about the dry texture. No doubt, this is a product everyone -including guys- should try.
